We only collect what's needed to take and fulfil your order. When you use Build a Box and send your order to us, this includes:
We don't ask for or store any payment card details ourselves. Card payments, if and when you make one, are handled entirely by our payment provider — we never see or keep your full card number.
We don't use this site to collect health data, and we don't need to know anything about you beyond what's listed above to prepare and deliver your food.
Build a Box runs entirely in your own browser. Nothing you type is sent anywhere until you press "Send order on WhatsApp" — at that point, your browser opens WhatsApp with your order details pre-filled as a message, which you then choose to send. WhatsApp is operated by Meta, and that message becomes part of a normal WhatsApp conversation between you and our business number, governed by WhatsApp's own privacy policy.
While you're building a box, we save your in-progress selections (package, meals, name, postcode) in your browser's local storage, purely so you don't lose your progress if you accidentally close the tab or refresh the page. This information stays on your device — it is never transmitted to us or anyone else unless you press "Send order on WhatsApp" or complete a payment. It's cleared automatically once an order is completed, and you can clear it yourself at any time using the "Reset & start again" button.
We don't use any analytics, advertising, or tracking cookies on this site. The only browser storage in use is the one described above, which is strictly necessary for the ordering tool to work and doesn't require separate consent under UK data protection rules — but we're telling you about it here regardless, since transparency matters more to us than the letter of what's required.
Where card payment is offered on this site, it is handled by a third-party payment provider who processes your payment details directly and securely. We do not store your card number, expiry date, or CVV on our own systems at any point, and our staff never see them either.
We don't sell your data, and we don't share it with anyone else for marketing or any other purpose.
We keep order conversations for as long as reasonably needed to fulfil your order, handle any follow-up questions, and meet our own basic accounting/record-keeping obligations. If you'd like us to delete your information sooner, contact us and we'll action it unless we're required to keep something for a legal or accounting reason.
